Kayla's Corner, 5/9/18: Rooster's Drive Inn in Mansfield & Mother's Day Carriage Rides in Covington

Kayla's Corner

Hey Y'all! Welcome back to the Corner, a place for details on food & fun, cool destinations & local happenings.

This week let's venture out to the country for a bite to eat!

Rooster's Drive Inn, owner & operated by Kenny Anderson, has been growing like a weed since it first planted its feet over a year ago in the heart of Mansfield, GA, right at the intersection of Hwy 11 & 213 (ed. note: the old DDC site).

Rooster's is best known for their great food & family-fun atmosphere. Specifically, folks just love their fried chicken, chicken wings & burgers. It's about the only place around to get fried gizzards & their once-a-week special of Chicken n' Dumplings brings in people from all over. They also became the first spot ever in Mansfield to get a beer & wine license, too. So you can enjoy all this great food with a nice, cold beverage!

Kenny and his  team are just great! Super nice folks. And they do live music some on the weekends & don't forget about it as a great breakfast pit stop, too. A lot of great additions have been going on at this cool spot & I'm thrilled to see what happens next!

It's hard to believe that it's almost Mother's Day! So, don't forget! In addition to the flowers, chocolate, jewelry or whatever else you might be getting that wonderful lady who brought you into this world, Main Street Covington is offering an opportunity for you to take your Momma on a carriage ride around the Covington Square!

That's right! Free of charge. Just be in front of the Historic Covington Courthouse between 2 to 4 & the two of you can enjoy a very special memory.

Okay, y'all, until next week...
