Kayla's Corner: Tubby Tom's & Keeping Kayleigh

Kayla's Corner

Welcome back to the Corner, a place for details on food & fun, cool destinations & local happenings.

Tubby Tom's
9148 US-278, Covington, GA 30014  (678) 212-6410

For this week's food & fun destination is going to be Tubby Tom's where the wings on Wednesday are...$.65 a piece! What a price! Just remember - dine-in only. They also carry an assortment of homemade desserts that are SO good & vary weekly.

The bar is great & has an awesome selection of liquor. And their list of craft beers is pretty impressive as well. Trivia has been getting popular here on Monday nights. It starts at 7PM, so don't be late & bring a smart date & enjoy those delicious wings!

A very important event is happening this Friday evening, May the 4th, at the Historic Covington Square. Keeping Kayleigh is an event to help raise awareness about mental health in our community, but the story behind it is a story of love. Of a Mother's love for her precious Daughter - Christina Henry & her girl, Kayleigh.

In addition to several speakers speaking, there will be several groups and causes in attendance with information about the resources available in Newton Co. And local group Sweet Harmony will be playing as well. The event starts up at 5Pm with the music to begin at 6.

From Keeping Kayleigh:

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we’ll be celebrating on the square. We’ll be posting updates as we have them to encourage you to bring your families out and to become more educated on the subject we all find so difficult to talk about.
To become a part of the movement to bring awareness and change, take a moment to check out our story at https://www.gofundme.com/5btj1qg?member=41166.

Also, with these nicer temperatures I'd like to encourage everyone to explore the trails that have throughout Covington, Oxford & beyond. Learn more at Newton Trails.

Okay, y'all, until next week...
