A TPC News Report: Madam Coroner Being Sued for $12K by JPMorgan Chase

 By: MB McCart, Ed.

This publication has learned that JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A., as Plaintiff, have filed a complaint w/ the Superior Court of Newton Co, State of Georgia, in an attempt to collect a purported debt in the amount of $12,156.74, against the current Coroner of Newton Co - Dorothea Y Bailey-Butts, named as Defendant.

On a sidebar, as a point of personal privilege & for the record, I'd just like to relay that I have passed on many, many stories pertaining to the finances, personal life, legal issues, etc. of a whole host of elected & appointed officials over the years for various reasons; however, in light of Madam Coroner's recent request for additional funds for her constitutional office & particularly in light of the vicious & lie-driven campaign she recently ran, this story definitely seemed needed, pertinent, proper & apropos

Perrin Lovett: The Not So Funny Papers

Greetings, Piedmonteers! In the name of Brahma the Merciless (say Awoman!), I trust we’re all wearing our COVIET face burqas. Let’s review a new and alarming, if sadly predictable trend sweeping the remains of the USSA.

Oh, yes, this installment is a twofer - I figure I owe you, and there at least two big issues and all.

First, a quick assessment of where this whole thing stands, from a realistic standpoint. With my sizable dosage of hopium having worn off, I’m back to where I was on July 30, 2020. This point is for future historians to ratify, but, friends, it’s over - at least as it has been. The days of even semi-free, quasi-fair, kinda-honest elections in the [fill in the titular terminology as you like: republic, democracy, collapsing empire, “gay” Talmudic clown show, etc.] are days of the past. I knew as early as 2012 that national contests were officially rigged, thus my cessation of direct participation. 2016 was a test that didn’t quite work out as planned. 2020 saw the institution of a fool-proof system; yes, everything was caught, but no one was willing to do anything about it. And, that (we’ll say 11:59 AM on January 20th) was the last chance for a miracle fix. If you’re granted an “election” in 2024, rest assured that the outcome is already decided. The fraud will not be traceable in the future, not that anyone will be looking for it then.

Things are moving right along now. I know everyone is reeling and starting to reassess allegiance to the Uniparty or one of the controlled opposition non-starters. That’s fine. Do what seems best to or for you. But, it’s time - past time - to embrace what’s unfolding. There are four general courses to take, some of which may overlap, tactically, as circumstances dictate: flee, fight, freeze, or hide.

Flee: This one fits well with the concept of hiding, and neither requires moving very far. You may be able to just stay put while remaining as quiet as possible. On the move, there are both national and international options - which you should already have well thought out to the point of action. (If only someone had written a short book on the topic and given it away for free!)

Fight: Fourth (even fifth) generation, unrestricted, asymmetrical civil warfare is now ongoing in that strange area between Mexico and Canada. As with an escape plan, you should have long since had a plan for surviving this conflict. It’s time to elevate the readiness to at least condition two. If you do not understand the foregoing, then you can always freeze by default.

Freeze: You do not have to do anything. You can always be a casualty. And that seemingly unpleasant option isn’t necessarily as bad as it sounds. Rather than be killed or maimed, you might only be displaced or reduced to a form of serfdom. Hope eternal!*

*While it runs short, there is still a little time.

Okay! Now for the real issue of the hour: the Death of the Comics Section!

Back in the days of the old, vanished America, lingering even into the late stages of USian decline, there were these things called “newspapers.” Some few of you may remember. They provided readers with news, opinion commentary, weather forecasts, sports coverage, and, best of all, humorous short comedic stories complete with cartoon illustrations. One by one, the other aspects of these paper dinosaurs faded away until all that was left were the funny pages. Alas, it is my terrible duty to inform you that those also are now relics of the ancient world.

Recently, out of old habit, I acquired a Sunday copy of a once-major regional paper, primarily so I could thumb through the comics for a laugh. I read Hagar the Horrible with delight. All was well until a few days later when by chance I happened to peruse the true digital version of the same comic online. It jumped out at me immediately! The paper edition had quietly edited away the first two panels of the strip! I assumed at the time that this must have been an error. I assumed incorrectly.

A few weeks passed by and I noticed that every Sunday this accursed publication shaved off roughly twenty percent of the daily misadventures of Hagar and Company. This past weekend, I ran a test wherein I studiously compared most of the printed Sunday comics with the original versions found on the interwebs. I was shocked though, in retrospect, I shouldn’t have been. The following series were illicitly truncated:

  • Blondie

  • Hagar the Horrible

  • Garfield

  • Hi and Lois

It’s only a matter of time before Zits gets popped and Beetle Bailey gets 4F’d. It is possible, I suppose, that the murderous frame clippings are limited to this one worthless outlet. However, I doubt it. Even if I did have any doubt, what would it matter? All of my favorite funnies are always available, every day of the week, either at their eponymous homepages or at places like Comics Kingdom, Go Comics, or Arcamax. Why deal with an overpriced middleman who intentionally diminishes the product?

The American newspaper is now dead. As an aside, each day, I usually scan through a dozen or so European and Asian papers via their websites. They’re no longer what they used to be, though they are still, for the time being, moderately worthwhile.

How, specifically regarding the cartoons, did this happen? Several answers present themselves, one or more likely explaining the question definitively. News, or even the state-contrived excuse for it, is now something astute, cult-of-free minds glean from trustworthy sources like FOX, CNN, CIA, and CBS, along with that great beacon of veracity, Faceberg. Traditional papers have been cutting back as they lose subscribers and readers, now reaching the point that there is literally nothing left to cut. I noticed with my test paper that on the same page where they couldn’t fit four additional Flagston and Arbuckle household panels, they found room for a half-page ad for their own services. How convenient. If one is utterly honest, then it’s also more likely than not that the average Amerikan is now so illiterate as to no longer fully comprehend the antics of a fat fictional Viking or an anthropomorphic cat.

None of this is really, truly funny. Still, for whatever reason, it makes me laugh.

Where We Stand - A Point; Counterpoint Series by McCart & Millsaps: The Future of the GOP

*Ed. note: This is really not as much of a point; counterpoint series as it two political junkies - one basically conservative-libertarian (me), the other kind of liberal/progressive-libertarian (Ellis) - giving their thoughts, ideas & analysis on a myriad of issues. We're hoping to do this weekly (but, come on, right? It's me & Da...maybe more like every other week...monthly?) & are very much looking forward to it! Some future subjects: police reform, gun control, Covid relief, social media policing, getting rid cash bail on victimless crimes, legalization of drugs, legalization of prostitution, legalization of polygamy (why not?) etc. So stay tuned!

P.S. McCart & Millsaps. Sounds like a law firm...

The Future of the GOP

A Point from MB McCart:

The rumors of the GOP's imminent demise, to paraphrase Twain (maybe somewhat), are probably greatly exaggerated.

For starters, it's going to turn 167 in a couple of months, so it's been around a bit; also, there's so much power & money accumulated w/in its national committee, state parties & local affiliates that I don't think it's going anywhere, anytime soon.

Ellis, as you well know, America has always pretty much been a 2-party system & that likely will not be changing in the near future. In the past, one party would sometimes get replaced by another. We saw it w/ both the Federalists & the Whigs.

Many, myself included, have felt it would be beneficial to move to a tripartisan political system vs the current bipartisan one.

I've been an off & on official member of the Libertarian Party & have identified as one since I was a teenager in the early 90s. Founded in the early 70s, the party has never gotten the type of traction to create a major paradigm shift in the American electorate, but it did see its highest POTUS vote total (by a margin of 300%) five years ago & last year's candidate - Jo Jorgenson - surprised many by hitting almost 2 million votes in such a charged environment.

I truly think we might witness one of the most interesting time periods as it relates to political parties & coalitions here in the next few years.

Firstly, I do think Donald Trump & others start the Patriots' Party, or whatever they end up calling it. I think it'll be a lot like the Reform Party that Perot started up back in the 90s. But will it absorb & overtake the Republican Party? No, I think not.

Also, I see a schism happening on the left side. I believe the true progressives & labor types will, especially if they witness a splintering on the other side, peel off from the Dems & either overtake a party (Greens?) or create a new one.

Naturally, the LP will still be around (we're like cockroaches -- we're not going anywhere).

So, come 2024, I could see perhaps four to five different candidates for POTUS all getting at least 2% of the vote & possibly three or four all hitting over 10% w/ the winner possibly in the high 30s or low 40s in terms of percentage of the popular vote. If this, or something even just remotely similar, were to occur, I think it'd look more like the election of 1912 than any presidential election we've seen in the last 60 years.

So, the short version:

The Party of Lincoln, Taft & Reagan survives but likely will be much different - and smaller - than the GOP we've known for the last century & a half.

Time will tell...

*Ed. note 2: two days after I wrote this piece it was reported that according to sources close to Trump, he has cooled on the idea of a 3rd party & will instead be concentrating his voice & resources on helping MAGA Republicans to primary "Rinos" & Never-Trumper GOPers.

A Counterpoint from Ellis "Da" Millsaps:

Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson used to pick up hitchhikers, back when people picked up hitchhikers. Through that practice he became acquainted with one Charles Manson who was not yet famous for anything.

At the time Wilson lived in a large rental house. Initially he and Manson hit it off. Manson had some musical talent  and moved himself into Wilson's house.  When Manson got crazier than Wilson could take, rather than risk trying to evict the madman, he moved out of his house and let the landlord deal with Manson.

I think that traditional Republicans should follow the Dennis Wilson plan; just move out and leave the GOP to Trump, the conspiracy theorists and white nationalists because the party with him in it will not again be grand.

They might be well served to start a new party, the Constitutional Republican Party. Could the Constitutionalists win elections? Maybe. Look at the example of Lisa Murkowski who was primaried and lost to a Tea Party challenger but held her senate seat over both the Republican and Democratic nominees as a write in  candidate.

Trump has hinted at starting his own party, but why would he do the work of starting a new party when he already owns one. That would cut into his golf time.

The Constitutional party could expand its base by picking off voters who now have no place to go but to the Democrats and who could be drawn to a  center right party purged of blatant racism: some African Americans, Latinos, Asian Americans, suburban women and the young. Their candidates would no longer have to fear a Trumpian primary challenge. (The worst elements would stay in the GOP where candidates would compete to see who could be the most dangerous.) Such a party could keep Democrat’s excesses in check.

What I'm suggesting here is not likely to happen this cycle but I think it would be a good thing for our country if it did.  What I think will happen is a shrinking of the Republican Party until they  make some major changes on social issues. ###

So those are our perspectives. Da makes some good points; ditto for me. What say you? Comment in the comments if you so desire.

On behalf of Ellis & Yours Truly, thanks for reading.

Quick Weekend Check-in: Local News; Updates at TPC; A Moment From Us

Hey friends,

So what's the 411 w/ all of this local political excitement? Well, glad you asked...

Let's get to the proverbial elephant in the living room first.

Madam Coroner

Just damn...

You can get some background here if you want, courtesy of that other publication

So, a few things:

- she's obviously incompetent & unqualified
- she has no idea what she's doing (why did she run for this?)
- she's a little rough around the edges
- but she can do a pretty legit slow jam rap, so there's that.

She better watch out for a lawsuit, though, if she keeps it up.

The following, based on my research, does seemed to have happened:

jljljl

A Recall process is supposed to begin first of next week

Stay tuned...

###

The fire station controversy has been quite the thing. Though already approved & slated for construction contingent upon a bond issuance, the Newton Commissioners for district 2, 3 & 4 decided they wanted to get some stuff, too.

However, per a public statement last night, BOC3 Commish Alana Sanders has stated that it will get approved after a month regardless of anything else.

TPC would like to commend Commissioner Sanders for engaging w/ the public like she has.

So far, so good, Madam Commissioner. Keep up the good work!

*****

A big week, next week, for the ole publication:

- Assoc. Editor Kayla La'sure & Yours Truly will be doing our first Collab together -- a TPC Profile Piece of the new Executive Chef over at 5 O'Clock, the one & only George. This guy is the truth & he puts out AMAZING food!

- Our Editor Emeritus & I are beginning a new point; counterpoint series -- "Where We Stand." Our first one will be: "The Future of the GOP"

That's all for now, folks. TTYS.

Perrin Lovett: Brought to You by the Letter “D”

Greetings, Piedmontites! The National Affairs may continue after next week, once we know whether it’s a military counter-coup or a police state with years of civil war. You’ll have fun either way! For now, let’s look at your recent runoff election. We’ll do it in a “TL;DR,” Sesame Street-friendly fashion.

D = Democrats

Congratulations to Rev. Warnock, Mr. Ossoff, and especially to Georgia’s next governor, Stacey Abrams. Blue Wave. Etc. Selma Montgomery built a masterful machine and steered it to perfect execution. Kudos, lady.

D = Demographics

Not many will admit it or understand it, and I have no assurance (or concern) that this column will even run as written, but the reason for the “Red” to “Blue” shift has less to do with politics and more to do with the rapidly-evolving demographic composition of the Peach State. Not that most of you will look at it, but the forthcoming Census Report for 2020 should explain everything.

D = Dominion

While it was undoubtedly on standby for emergency adjustments, I do not think the system was needed due to the above-listed reason(s).

D = Democracy

Our Republic! Muh Constitution! Magic dirt! Newt wrote something utterly stupid for the Washington Times about the excuses. LOL!

D =  Deuteronomy

Positing, for a smooth analogy, David Perdue as a mental child, you have, wisely or unwittingly, traded the rule of woman and child (Isaiah) for the rule of foreigners (Deuteronomy). Say Awoman!

D = Destiny

The future belongs to those who show up for it. The Posterity was and is a no-show.

A Moment from MB: Going Home

As of three days ago I'm proud to report that I am, for the first time in 10 years, a card-carrying, dues-paying member of the Libertarian Party of Georgia as well as the national Libertarian Party

I had to resign both memberships in 2011 when I got actively involved w/ the
Ron Paul
campaign (The GOP mandated it for me to be a delegate to the county, regional & state conventions).
Some of you may remember the East Metro Atlanta Libertarian Party that several were involved w/ from 2005-2011. Look for a Libertarian Party of Newton County very soon. I'll keep you posted.

A Letter From The Editor Concerning the Current State of Affairs

 A Few Thoughts

Regarding the hand wringing & anxiety of my friends on the right over the results of the runoff, I really don't think there's much to worry about. There's a guy named Joe Manchin who is US Senator from West Virginia. He's also more conservative than several GOP members of that body. While it may be 50/50 w/ the Veep as a tiebreaker, none of the crazy stuff is gonna happen. Manchin already has said there's no chance of him voting for the $2000 per person after Biden takes office.
To some of my more Democratic & Progressive-leaning friends, there's a lot of broad brush strokes going on out there, and certainly some hypocrisy. And I guess individual responsibility continues to become more & more lost on many in our society.
To me, what is most concerning right now is reading the following current headlines:
- "Google Suspends Parler From Google Play"
- "Facebook Deletes Page for 'Walk Away' Movement"
- "Reddit Bans Pro-Donald Trump Forum"
- "Apple Threatens to Ban Parler"
- "Conservative Journalist Banned from Facebook for Covering Capital Hill Siege"
Now for the folks that know me, you know I'm definitely not a MAGA guy, but as I've always said -- I'm not a Never Trumper, either. I've called Trump out more than I praised him over these last four years.
But people -- what's going on right now is not a good thing, I assure you.
We need to get past the 'what' & delve into the 'why.' 75 million voted for DJT. Millions feel disenfranchised. We can't split into two countries. It'd never work. Plus, I wouldn't want to be in either one of them.
Also, many questions need to get answered about yesterday's events. There needs to be a very thorough & rigorous investigation & analysis of what transpired, who was involved & so on & so forth.
Regardless, this isn't working. We need to figure something out... - MB McCart

Election Day Part Deux: Electric, Eclectic Boogaloo

By MB McCart, Ed.

4 January 2021

In re the two GA Senate runoff elections

Happy New Year, folks. As I write this it looks like we'll have about 22 hours more of these damn political ads. Jeez, what a sh!tshow. Both the Rs & Ds have had enough of it, and especially us GDIs/Independents?Unaffiliated types.

And the amount of money spent? Damn, just obscene!

Oh well, it's about to be over soon, thank the Good Lord.

The REAL Story

The political parties and - most especially - the political consultants & pundits, have made a killing off of these two elections, which was the goal all along; however, it was all much ado about de nada.

The balance of power had already been decided considering Joe Manchin is a U.S. Senator in the Great State of West Virginia. Even w/ Radical Rafeal & Beta Boy Ossoff winning, there wouldn't be a chance for the green new deal, packing the SCOTUS or anything else.

I keep wondering if a large number of my fellow American Qualified Electors will ever get tired of being played like fiddles? Eh, probably not, right?

So my predictions for tomorrow:

Kelly 51/49
Ossoff 51/49

Regardless, thank God it's almost over.

- MBM
